Dreams Never Get Old — a person reflected in the giant mirrored camera lens on the playa at sunset

Dreams Never Get Old

The Piece

Dreams Never Get Old is a monumental mirrored camera sculpture debuting at Burning Man 2026 before moving to its permanent home in Lake Tahoe.

Standing over 8 feet wide and 7 feet tall, the sculpture reimagines a familiar object as an invitation to pause, reflect, and see ourselves in a new way.

The lens is a mirror. As people approach, they don't see a photograph—they see themselves.

The piece invites visitors to step out of the noise and into a moment of reflection—a reminder that who we are is more important than how we appear.

In a world that constantly encourages us to look outward, Dreams Never Get Old offers a chance to pause, reconnect, and consider the possibilities still ahead. It celebrates the idea that growth, wonder, and meaningful connection are not reserved for any particular age or stage of life.

A space to pause, reconnect, and remember that the story is still being written.

Imagine the Experience

A moment of pause in a world that rarely slows down.

Dreams Never Get Old invites people to step out of the noise and into a moment of reflection.

Not to look at the artwork, but to become part of it.

A chance to be present, reconnect with themselves, and remember what truly matters.

From Burning Man to its permanent home in Lake Tahoe, the piece is designed to inspire meaningful moments that stay with people long after they walk away.

About Marina

Hi, I'm Marina—an interior designer, artist, mother, immigrant, and first-time large-scale public art creator based in Lake Tahoe. I've spent my career designing spaces that shape how people feel, connect, and experience the world around them. Whether through interiors or public art, I'm drawn to creating experiences that inspire reflection, belonging, and a sense of wonder.

Dreams Never Get Old was born during one of the most challenging chapters of my life after losing my brother to suicide. In the midst of grief, I found myself thinking about the dreams we carry, the possibilities still ahead of us, and the importance of creating moments that remind people of their own value.

This sculpture is my way of turning pain into purpose and celebrating the idea that dreams don't get old—and neither does our capacity to grow, connect, and imagine what comes next.

Why This Matters

Dreams Never Get Old advanced through the Burning Man Honoraria grant process but was not selected for funding in the final round. Creating large-scale public art requires significant resources, and bringing this vision to life depends on community support.

Donations help fabricate, transport, install, and ultimately establish the sculpture's permanent home in Lake Tahoe, where it can continue inspiring visitors for years to come.

The goal

Raise $20,000 by August 2026.

Proudly Partnering With Tahoe Arts Fund

This project is supported in partnership with the Tahoe Arts Fund, whose belief in Dreams Never Get Old helped turn a personal vision into a community-supported public artwork. Together, we're bringing this experience to Burning Man and its permanent home in Lake Tahoe.
